Elevate Your Teaching and Avoid Burnout

Featured Content

Burnout is defined as a complete loss of motivation; something that is close to a depression. As educators we all face it at some point of the year, it’s inevitable. In this episode, our conversation is based on episode 350 of the Art of Manliness Podcast – artofmanliness.com.

On that episode host, Brett McKay speaks with Brad Stulberg and Steve Magness who co-authored the book Peak Performance: Elevate Your Game, Avoid Burnout, and Thrive With the New Science of Success. They shared how their respective backgrounds in elite running and business consulting taught them the importance of rest and recovery from brain work.

More than ever American teachers are experiencing a 24/7 grind in and out of their classroom that requires a hustle that can actually hinder our performance in the classroom.

We talk about the science of burnout: what it is, how it feels, and why it happens. Then based on our understanding of the information, we’ve got some recommendations for you to combat with burnout and fatigue as an educator.
